Stellantis And Qualcomm Expand Partnership For AI-Driven Vehicles

Stellantis and Qualcomm Technologies have announced a major expansion of their technological collaboration. The partnership aims to equip upcoming vehicle generations across Stellantis’s global brands with the Snapdragon Digital Chassis. This platform utilizes systems-on-chip (SoCs) to centralize the vehicle’s electronic processing power, aligning with the automotive industry’s trend toward upgrading electronic “brains” for enhanced safety and digital connectivity.

Rather than focusing solely on display aesthetics, the technology integrates with Stellantis’s “STLA Brain” electronic and software architecture. This integration is designed to boost cockpit performance, connectivity, and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) by improving their intelligence and precision.

Advanced Automation and Corporate Integration

A key feature of the expanded agreement is the adoption of the Snapdragon Ride Pilot. This scalable, automated driving platform enables functions ranging from basic safety features to Level 2+ autonomy, allowing hands-free driving under specific conditions. The platform is driven by artificial intelligence to deliver a more secure and intuitive driving experience. According to Ned Curic, Chief Engineering and Technology Officer at Stellantis, this intelligent foundation allows the company to scale connected capabilities with high speed and efficiency across all group brands.

The collaboration extends beyond component supply into strategic corporate alignment. The companies have signed a letter of intent for Qualcomm to incorporate aiMotive, Stellantis’s autonomous driving and simulation subsidiary. This move highlights a deep relationship aimed at developing unified computing systems.

Nakul Duggal, an executive at Qualcomm, noted that this expansion represents a significant turning point. By standardizing this technological foundation, Stellantis intends to lower costs through platform efficiency and accelerate the market introduction of new vehicle features.
